Jewellery Care
A piece that is worn every day will look better than one kept in a drawer, provided it is treated as jewellery, not as armour.
Every day
- Put jewellery on last, after scent, cream and hairspray
- Remove rings before washing hands with harsh soap, and before the gym
- Take pieces off before swimming. Chlorine attacks alloys, not the diamond
- Store pieces separately; a diamond will scratch every other stone you own
Cleaning at home
Warm water, a drop of unscented washing-up liquid, and a soft toothbrush on the underside of the setting where oils collect. Rinse, and dry on a lint-free cloth.
Do not use ultrasonic cleaners on pavé, on any piece with a coloured stone, or on enamel.
In the house
Bring any Córvel piece in at any time for cleaning, inspection and re-polishing, for the life of the piece and at no charge. White gold is re-rhodiumed free of charge once a year.
We recommend an inspection every twelve months for pieces worn daily — claws wear, and a stone is easier to secure than to replace.
